Turn Around, Go Home
It's good news.

We got the call 50 minutes before my appointment this morning. I had my water bottle, vicodin and valium pills in my hand and was waiting another 10 minutes before I popped them into my mouth.

M.'s cell phone rang and we both jumped. He handed the phone to me and the nurse (Doctor - bad news......Nurse - good news) asked if we were almost there and I said not too far. We left early in case of traffic. She said to turn around and go home that the embryologist just finished looking at everything and it is excellent. Dr. Beautiful wants to push them to blastocysts.

She asked if I had a pen to write everything down. I was fumbling and trembling searching for a pen and something to scribble the news on.

We still have 13 embryos. They grade them 1 -4 with grade 1 being best.

What they wanted to see this morning were some 8 celled grade 1 embryos.

We have one 9 celled grade 2.

We have ten 8 celled embryos. Three are grade 1 and three are grade 2 and I'll type the best news about the other four in a sec.

We have one 6 cell grade 3 and we have one 3 cell grade 2. These stink but that is okay.

The most amazing news is that we have FOUR compacting grade 1's ....... compacting grade 1's are over achieving 8 celled that are already beginning to go to blast stage.

They are changing the medium for the embryos and I am to return on Monday.

This is excellent news. Surely, surely there has got to be at least one good one in there? Please.......PLEASE.

I couldn't be more proud.

Listen. Do you hear that? That's the sound of me hooting, hollering, and jumping around in joy at your great news! Heck, I don't think I hooted and hollered this loudly when we got our power back five days post-Hurricane Jeanne! Happy happy day--congrats!
